The Dallas Cowboys must have all been feeling all sorts of negative emotions after their 19-12 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, yet only one player was reported to have cried as a result.
There was real hope the Cowboys could return to the NFC Championship Game, having missed out in nearly 30 years. Despite Brock Purdy’s brilliance since he stepped into the starting role for the Niners, Dallas must have felt their chances of getting past a team led by a QB who was the last pick of the draft were significant.
While Purdy did not have a spectacular game, San Francisco will be the team to face the Philadelphia Eagles in the conference decider, while the Cowboys will have to reset and make another attempt next year.
One Dallas player was said to have taken the loss harder than most. According to WFAA’s Mike Leslie, safety Jayron Kearse had to be consoled by assistant coach Aden Durde in the wake of the defeat.
The 28-year-old was also emotional when he spoke to reporters after the game.

Kearse had a great game on the night, as did the rest of the Cowboys defense. Unfortunately, the offense couldn’t match the effort.
