One unnamed team reportedly reached out to recently-retired quarterback Chad Henne about returning to the field for this upcoming season.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that he declined the offer.
The 37-year-old Henne just finished off his 13th season in the league which came right after the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory in February.
Henne, who signed with Kansas City back in 2018, had been with the Chiefs for the entirety of the time that Patrick Mahomes has been the club’s full-time starter. Over those five years, Henne played in 11 regular-season games and made one start for the team.
He attempted 59 passes while completing 41 of those throws for 359 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions.

Henne stepped in during the Divisional Round of the playoffs and helped lead the Chiefs. In this year’s Divisional Round against the Jaguars, Henne stepped in for a hobbled Mahomes and completed five of seven passes for 23 yards and a touchdown before Mahomes ultimately returned for the second half.
He went out on top and clearly wants to remain there.
