Every NFL team has at least one weakness that they could improve on before the trade deadline, even if the season hasn’t quite gone the way that team expected It to go. Here is one position of need for all 32 teams in the NFL:
Arizona Cardinals: Cornerback
The Cardinals are a rebuilding team, but they could look around the league to add a corner that is younger or maybe not in the best situation. Kyler Murray is nearing a return, so some weapons around him wouldn’t hurt either.
Atlanta Falcons: Pass Rusher
The Falcons are 24th in sack percentage and only average just under 2 sacks per game. They would greatly benefit from a guy that can pin his ears back and get after the QB since there is a real chance that they can win the NFC South.
Baltimore Ravens: Running Back
This is more of a luxury, but could you imagine an elite RB paired with an already elite runner in Lamar Jackson? It’s crazy to think about. I have been hearing a certain elite running back down in Tennessee may be available…

Buffalo Bills: Cornerback
The Bills are always going to be in contention with Josh Allen under center, but they are severely lacking at the CB spot with Tre’Davious White being out for the season. Trading or signing a proven veteran CB would be ideal.
Carolina Panthers: Wide Receiver
The Panthers are the only winless team and seem to have no identity. They desperately need weapons for rookie QB Bryce Young, and 33-year-old Adam Thielen isn’t exactly who he used to be.
Chicago Bears: Pass Rusher
It’s been a rough season for the Bears all around, and the Bears rank dead last in the NFL in sacks this season. They need good pass rushers badly, but it is much easier said than done. This is probably a draft need realistically.
Cincinnati Bengals: Defensive Tackle
The Bengals offense led by Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase playing well shows the league that the Bengals can play and compete andThe Bengals have been lackluster this season, but their biggest need for me would be DT. They are giving up an abysmal 5.0 YPC which ranks 30th in the NFL. They need to improve in the interior. be a potential dark-horse team in the playoffs if they continue playing like they did in week six.
Cleveland Browns: Offensive Tackle
The Browns rank 27th in Sacks given up, averaging over 3 sacks per game. Jedrick Wills has been disappointing to start his career so far. Tackles are hard to find in general, especially at the trade deadline.
Dallas Cowboys: Cornerback
The Cowboys don’t have any glaring needs necessarily, but CB depth would be nice considering they lost Trevon Diggs for the rest of this season. Jerry Jones has been adamant about not making any moves at the deadline this season though.
Denver Broncos: Defense
Sorry Broncos fans, your defense stinks. They are giving up the most Total YPG by almost 20 yards. They need players almost everywhere on defense. I doubt they make any trades, unless they trade pieces away.
Detroit Lions: Linebacker
Maybe not the most glaring need at first glance, but Lamar Jackson torched them in Week 7 to the tune of 357 yards and 4 total TDs. Dan Campbell elevates his players, so why not go make a big move for an elite defensive signal caller?
Green Bay Packers: Offensive Line
If Kirk Cousins was available, the pick here would be QB. Jordan Love hasn’t been very good this season. Instead, trading for an eventual David Bakhtiari replacement wouldn’t be a bad move.
Houston Texans: Offensive Line
The Texans Rank 30th In Yards Per Carry and haven’t protected well in the running game. It looks like they have their guy in CJ Stroud and giving him help is always a good option.
Indianapolis Colts: Defensive Backs
Indy went young this season at DB, and while they haven’t been awful; there has been growing pains. With promising rookie QB Anthony Richardson out for the year, I don’t see them making any moves at the deadline though.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Cornerback
The Jags have looked promising this season, and even a dark horse Super Bowl team if everything goes right. They are 31st in Passing defense, allowing 274 YPG to apposing QBs. That can’t continue if they want to make a run for a championship.
Kansas City Chiefs: Wide Receiver
The easiest decision on this list, the Chiefs WRs have been extremely underwhelming. Patrick Mahomes is the best QB in the NFL, but even only he can do so much. DeAndre Hopkins would be a great addition to this offense.
Las Vegas Raiders: Defensive Line
This season seems to be slipping away from the Raiders, and they need to give Maxx Crosby some help on the DL. The Raiders are 26th in opponent 3rd down conversion rate. A better pass rush would help them get off the field more often.
Los Angeles Chargers: Linebacker
The Chargers have once again been underwhelming this season, which has become the norm for LA under HC Brandon Staley. They have needs on the field, but I think the biggest change needs to happen with the coaching staff.
Los Angeles Rams: Offensive Tackle
The Rams have been just okay on the offensive line all season, thankfully the Rams have still been a good offensive team. They could look to add another solid CB2 as well, and hope for a better 2nd half of the season to make a playoff push.
Miami Dolphins: Cornerback
Jalen Ramsey has been sidelined all season after injuring himself in the offseason, and it has showed. Miami has been rough against the pass and could look to add another CB to bide their time before Ramsey returns.
Minnesota Vikings: Running Back
Alexander Mattison hasn’t been great this season after the Vikings released Dalvin Cook this offseason. The Vikings may try and make a late season push and backdoor into a playoff spot. Another playmaker wouldn’t hurt that cause.
New England Patriots: Wide Receiver
The Patriots can’t expect Mac Jones to be a top signal caller when he has no weapons to throw to. Juju Smith-Schuster, Kendrick Bourne, and Devante Parker are fine players; but they aren’t difference makers.
New Orleans Saints: Cornerback
Alonte Taylor and Paulson Adebo have been fairly underwhelming at outside corner and slot corner, respectively. This Saints team seems mediocre, but maybe they think they can win the weak NFC South.
New York Giants: Offensive Line
The Giants need help in a ton of spots, but the O-line is a massive need for the G-Men. Justin Pugh is one of their best linemen this season and he was signed, in his own words, “off the couch”. Not good.
New York Jets: Offensive Tackle
Across the O-line is a big issue, but the tackle spot is really bad. Mekhi Beckton has been severely underwhelming in his career and the Jets signed 38-year-old Duane Brown to be a stopgap and that has gone as well as expected. They need to keep Aaron Rodgers upright for next season.
Philadelphia Eagles: Cornerback
This would’ve been Wide Receiver, but they went and added an aging Julio Jones to a one-year deal. This roster is loaded and doesn’t have any real holes as of now. Howie Roseman is a wizard.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Wide Receiver
The Steelers and their WR core is interesting, because George Pickens has star potential but everyone else at that position is just fine. It is hard to evaluate them with inconsistent QB play, though.
San Francisco 49ers: Offensive Line
The Niners are just “fine” everywhere on the OL except Left tackle, Trent Williams is a generational talent. Without him though, it can be rough. They need to improve elsewhere to have a real chance at a championship.
Seattle Seahawks: Tight End
Noah Fant is a fine TE, but a real playmaker at that spot could completely change the game for an already good Seahawks offense. Fant hasn’t quite lived up to expectations in Seattle.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Defensive End
The Bucs have been good against the run thanks to NT Vita Vea, but their DE’s haven’t been great in that area and are middle of the pack in sacks. They have been a surprise team and could win the wide-open NFC South if they get hot.
Tennessee Titans: Wide Receiver
The Titans could be big sellers this trade deadline, they have been rumored to be interested in trading away WR DeAndre Hopkins despite that being a big need for the team. It might be reset time in Nashville.
Washington Commanders: Offensive Line
The Commanders have had a historically bad O-line this season, giving up almost 6 (!!!) sacks per game. They are on pace to be one of the worst offensive lines in the last decade. You have to give Sam Howell a chance to see what he can do.
