Ole Miss football head coach Lane Kiffin and former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown had an interesting back-and-forth exchange on X/Twitter.
Antonio Brown is no stranger to starting beef with other coaches and athletes, especially on social media. But this latest beef with the Rebels head coach is rather peculiar given how it all started.
Kelly Stafford, the wife of Los Angeles Rams star quarterback Matthew Stafford, revealed that she once dated her current husband’s backup QB in college in an effort to make him jealous.
Brown assumed Stafford was talking about Joe Cox, one of Stafford’s backups at Georgia. So Brown took to X/Twitter to call out Cox, posting a photo of the latter from his days with the Bulldogs:
Kiffin responded to Brown’s post with “Maybe” and a thinking emoji. Brown had an issue with that and responded to Kiffin with a simple four-letter message:

But Lane Kiffin got the last laugh by posting a GIF of the final moments in Antonio Brown’s NFL career, complemented with a “clown” emoji:
Brown’s final NFL game was against the New York Jets in Week 17 of the 2021 season. Following a disagreement with Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians about his injury status, Brown took his jersey off and ran out of the stadium.
The Buccaneers went on to win the game, and Brown was subsequently released. Predictably, no NFL team decided to pick up Brown following yet another ugly exit from an NFL club.
Brown’s resume speaks of a Hall of Famer, but his concerning list of legal troubles and behavior issues will likely keep him out of Canton.
Antonio Brown Won’t Stay Out Of The Spotlight
With Brown’s football career over, he’s become content using social media to try and keep himself relevant.
Whether it’s beefing with Kiffin, personally attacking old teammate Tom Brady or taking unnecessary shots at the WNBA, Brown just keeps running his mouth in order to stay in the spotlight.
