The New York Jets came into the 2021 season with high hopes of Zach Wilson being the future. One injury to the QB and now the fan base is excited about another QB.
MetLife Stadium crowd began screaming “Mike White, Mike White, Mike White” during their game against the Cincinnati Bengals. White, the Jets’ unknown backup making his first NFL start, threw for 405 yards and three touchdowns as the Jets shocked the Bengals 34-31 on Sunday.
The 26-year-old quarterback went viral on social media after somebody found an old tweet from him.
“Peyton Manning, I hate to break it to you, but I’m gonna break your record one day,” White tweeted back in 2013.
If he continues playing like this, it might be hard for the team to put Zach Wilson back at the starting position going forward.
White won over Jets fans who barely knew who he was last week when he replaced an injured Zach Wilson.

Most of Manning’s passing records now belong to players like Drew Brees and Tom Brady, but the claim still stands.
