Back in December 2008, OJ Simpson was sentenced to 33 years in prison with parole eligibility after 9 years after he was convicted of stealing sports memorabilia from two men in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2007.
Following the announcement of his death after a battle with prostate cancer, the man who was robbed by OJ Simpson had a surprising take on the matter.
Bruce Fromong, who was one of the victims of that 2007 robbery in a Las Vegas hotel room, spoke to TMZ Sports and stated that it is a “sad time right now for family and friends of O.J.’s, and for those who really knew him.”
“He tells us O.J. was a good father and a good man, and that he ‘will be sorely missed by many,'” TMZ wrote. “Fromong not only forgave O.J. — he befriended him too.”
Surveillance video from inside Palace Station showed OJ Simpson leading a group of armed men to storm a hotel room in what he called an attempt to get back some of his stolen belongings. Police arrested Simpson in Las Vegas on several felony charges, including kidnapping and armed robbery.
In 2008, Simpson was found guilty of several counts, including robbery and kidnapping. He was sentenced to up to 33 years but ended up being paroled in 2017 after Fromong spoke on his behalf at a parole hearing.
“I don’t feel that he’s a threat to anyone out there,” Fromong said at the time, via RGJ.com. “He’s a good man. I know that he does a lot for other people, and I feel that nine and a half to 33 years was way too long, and I feel that it’s time to give him a second chance.”

OJ Simpson Claimed His Health Was So Much Better Just Two Months Ago
Before his untimely death, OJ Simpson released a final video back in February where he stated “My health is good.”
“Obviously, I’m dealing with some issues, but I think I’m just about over it and I’ll be back on that golf course hopefully in a couple weeks.”
After sharing he was rooting for the San Francisco 49ers, he signed off, saying, “God bless, take care.”
Nobody had a clue what was going on except him and his family because clearly his health got worse from there and the cancer he was fighting would win out.
