OJ Simpson wants Lamar Jackson to take a stab at playing in Las Vegas.
On Tuesday, the Baltimore Ravens placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on Jackson ahead of the deadline, which means other teams can negotiate an offer sheet with him. Baltimore would then have the right to match any such deal or let him go and accept two first-round picks in return from the team that signed him.
For OJ Simpson, he would love to see the Las Vegas Raiders go out and get Lamar Jackson after they parted ways with Derek Carr, who has since signed a deal with the New Orleans Saints.
Simpson took to Twitter and dropped off his thoughts:
Bad news for Simpson.
According to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Las Vegas Raiders are “unlikely” to pursue Jackson. They were one of five teams who stated their unwillingness to go after him.

However, Russini provided additional context:
It should be noted there may be some hesitancy from teams to part ways with multiple first-round draft picks in addition to the massive fully guaranteed contract Jackson will likely command.
Jackson’s resume includes the 2019 MVP and two Pro Bowl selections. Losing picks and paying him on a hefty deal doesn’t look better than drafting a potential franchise quarterback on a rookie deal that would give teams more financial flexibility to improve other positions.
Unfortunately for Jackson, it looks like he will be playing in Baltimore next season on a deal that he did not want.
