Former NFL running back O.J. Simpson is excited that Ezekiel Elliott finally got his deal from the Dallas Cowboys that came out to be a six-year, $90 million contract.
Simpson, however, still believe that Elliott and other running backs around the league are still being grossly underpaid and devalued for a very important position.
“Ezekiel’s contract is the biggest of all time. But I still think the position is grossly underpaid,” Simpson said. Wide receivers are getting three or four million than what he just signed for and do you realize he caught 77 passes last year.”
He went on to mention RB’s such as Christian McCaffrey and Saquon Barkley being top receivers and running backs, but not receiving the same type of money as a guy like Odell Beckham Jr., who is one of the top wide receivers in the league.
“Catching those passes and still rushing for 1,000 yards? Come on, guys. These guys should be the second-highest paid players on the football field,” Simpson said.
