The NFL will be keeping an especially close eye on one particular officiating crew when the week 14 action kicks off today.
According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the crew led by referee Brad Allen will be “under increased scrutiny” following their mistake-filled performance during week 13’s Sunday night battle between the Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers.
The crew was blasted by NFL players and fans after they appeared to miss several key calls down the stretch, and they ultimately played a big part in the outcome of the game — which the Packers won, 27-19.
One of the most notable errors made by the crew was a missed pass interference call on Chiefs wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, which Former NFL vice president of officiating Dean Blandino referred to as the most obvious missed pass interference call since the “NOLA No Call” during the NFC Championship Game in 2018 between the Saints and Rams.
According to Schefter, the NFL will be keeping a close eye on Allen’s crew today when they take the field to officiate a game between the New York Jets and Houston Texans at MetLife Stadium. Should they have another disastrous performance, it could result in punishment from the league.

Allen’s crew will be under increased scrutiny when they officiate Sunday’s game at MetLife Stadium between the Texans and Jets . Many, including the NFL, will be watching to see if there’s another decision by Allen’s crew that draws the ire of teams the way it did the past two weeks.
Officiating has been a major topic of discussion in the NFL this season, as every week it seems like the officials are playing just as big a role in deciding the outcome of game as the players. With the league now taking a stand against it’s officials, hopefully we won’t be talking about the refs come Monday morning.
