We know what Odell Beckham Jr. was trying to do here, but still. It did not look good.
In the first half of the LA Rams’ game against the Baltimore Ravens, Rams quarterback Matt Stafford, who had already thrown a pick-6, added to his misery when he tossed another careless interception to safety Chuck Clark.
Following the pick by Clark, Odell Beckham Jr. was seen throwing a punch at the Ravens DB’s rear end. He was likely trying to punch the ball out of Clark’s grasp, but he missed by a mile.
The punch connected with all Clark, and no ball.
The league may need to start reviewing these “peanut punches” if players are going to continue to be this reckless with their fists. Trying to cause a fumble is one thing, but there’s no need to wind up a deliver a haymaker like OBJ did here.
Perhaps he was a little frustrated, as his Rams are currently being dominated by the Ravens early on in the game.
