Odell Beckham Jr. has suddenly turned into a touchdown scoring machine since joining the Los Angeles Rams midway through the season.
On Sunday, he only had four catches for 37 yards, but one of those catches went for a touchdown in the second half that pretty much sealed the Rams’ victory over the Minnesota Vikings. On the play, OBJ used a slick move in the end zone to shed Vikings cornerback Cameron Dantzler and get wide open.
That touchdown put the Rams up by a score of 27-13 with just under 12 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. The Rams would hold on for the 30-23 victory.
After the score, OBJ knew just how to celebrate. The former LSU wideout savagely did the ‘griddy’ dance in the end zone, which has been the signature celebration for fellow Tiger alum and Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson.
In this same game, Justin Jefferson moved ahead of Odell Beckham Jr. for the most receiving yards through the first two years of a player’s career. Was the Griddy celebration Beckham’s way of showing respect to Jefferson for his accomplishment?
