The Baltimore Ravens have added one of their key offensive playmakers to the injury report ahead of Sunday’s Week 1 opener against the Houston Texans.
Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is now on the Ravens’ injury report with an ankle injury. The Ravens will host the Texans at M&T Bank Stadium at 1:00 p.m. EST.
After missing the entire 2022 season recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered in Super Bowl 56, Beckham signed a one-year deal with Baltimore worth $15 million. The contract carries a max value of $8 million.
Baltimore’s new-look offense features the arrivals of Beckham Jr., Nelson Agholor and rookie wideout Zay Flowers, whom Baltimore selected in the first round. The club made a surprise switch at offensive coordinator earlier this year, parting ways with Greg Roman and replacing him with Todd Monken.
Under Monken, the Ravens are set to transition towards a more pass-happy offense after relying aplenty on Jackson and the backfield in the ground game. If Beckham Jr. stays healthy and produces the way he did for the Los Angeles Rams, he’ll set himself up for a nice payday in 2024.
