More details are emerging by the second, as we are getting a clearer picture of exactly what happened on that American Airlines flight that got Odell Beckham Jr. escorted away by police.
According to a press release from the Miami-Dade Police, officers were called at 9:30 am for a “medical emergency” on the flight. Apparently, the crew was “concerned” about the health of Odell Beckham Jr., as he was “coming in and out of consciousness” when they tried to get him to put his seatbelt on prior to takeoff.
Afraid that Beckham’s condition could become worst during the five-hour flight to Los Angeles, the flight crew called for police and fire rescue to escort OBJ off the plane. Beckham initially refused to leave the plane, but was eventually escorted off by officers “without incident.”
Here’s the entire statement:
Beckham is currently the hottest commodity on the NFL free agent market, with several teams pursuing the star wide receiver. It’ll be interesting to see if this incident changes the minds of any of his suitors.
