Odell Beckham Jr. is yet to be picked up by an NFL team despite the many links to various franchises.
The wide receiver is keen on returning to the league after spending 2022 out due to injury. He held a workout earlier this month, with multiple teams reported to be in attendance. There’s no doubt that there’s plenty of interest in the three-time Pro Bowler yet there’s been no traction in terms of meaningful talks.
It’s now being reported that Beckham has adjusted his contract demands in order to get a deal. According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini (H/T Brobible.com’s Dov Kleiman), the wideout was after a contract in the $15-20 million range but has lowered his expectations after the realization that teams are just not willing to pay the sum.
Beckham has denied wanting $20 million but made sure to note that he is not willing to accept $4 million.
Experts have suggested that the player’s best bet would be to sign a one-year deal paying him a decent salary in addition to incentives attached to playing time and on-field production.
Such a move would allow Beckham to prove he still has what it takes to help a team win while not tying himself down to a long-term contract that wouldn’t pay him what he feels he’s worth.
