New Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has revealed that he considered retiring from football after the 2021 season.
The star pass-catcher helped the Los Angeles Rams win the Super Bowl in February of 2022 but suffered a torn left ACL during the game, having already sustained a similar injury while playing for the Cleveland Browns.
Beckham has found a new home this year after spending the entire 2022 season on the sidelines.
“I went through a lot the last couple of years, and I thought it was over,” he told The Athletic in a recent interview. “I didn’t want to get back up on the horse and do the same song and dance all over again.”
OBJ also declared that he will give the Ravens everything in 2023 and play like it’s his last year.
“I’m thinking like this is my last year. I’m going to give it my all this year,” he added. “And then if something happens after that, we can go from there.”

Should playing alongside Lamar Jackson work out for him, he could receive an even bigger deal from the Ravens. Yet it would appear he isn’t thinking that far ahead.
