Odell Beckham jr. has now been trending twice this year, once after he got traded from the New York Giants to the Cleveland Browns, and the next one was just last night.
On Monday night, a who’s who of celebrities descended upon New York to attend the Met Gala to show off their most eccentric outfits and it also brought out professional athletes.
That included OBJ who showed up in a sleeveless suit and shirt and a kilt/skirt that got everybody’s attention.

Everybody had their share of jokes on social media, but Odell had a good reasoning for this outfit.
He explained that to GQ:
“I told them no off the rip,” Beckham says of the kilt in Thom Browne’s midtown offices on Sunday night, just 24 hours before the Met. “I was like, ‘There’s no chance I’m wearing that. On the way here I was like, ‘Can you make sure they bring it just in case? I might just do it just to do it.” (Spoken like a true Nike athlete.)
On one hand, he’s worried about his unblemished record, fits-wise. “You know when somebody wears something and you’re like, ‘Nah, that ain’t it’?” he asks. “I haven’t had too many fits where it’s like, that ain’t it.” On the other hand: “I definitely could pull it off.” Wearing a kilt to the Met Gala is the sort of idea you sink into, like a steaming bath—it’ll be comfortable once you work up the courage to get your ass into it.
Half an hour into his fitting, Beckham finally says the magic words.
“Can I just try it on?”
That is the one thing Odell is certainly going to miss about NYC is the many places you can go in the city to rub elbows with the rich and famous. Now he gets to drive around Cleveland and rub elbows with the despair in the air and watch the glowing lights of factories and abandon houses.
