Earler this year, the New York Giants traded superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns in a move that sent shock waves throughout the NFL.
Things have not worked out for the Browns and Odell since that trade.
After their Week 15 game against the Cardinals — Odell has caught only 67 passes for 910 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Even though he has told opposing players and coaches to ‘come get me,’ FOX Sports’ Jason La Canfora is reporting that the Browns WR doesn’t plan to request a trade this offseason, though the receiver remains frustrated at how the 2019 season has played out.
“Beckham is among a core of veteran Browns players, however, who are interested to see what changes, if any, are made to the team’s staff and scheme in 2020, with some deep concerns about the lack of evolution in a passing game many expected to be among the best in football.”
Second-year QB Baker Mayfield has regressed since his rookie year, throwing for the same amount of interceptions that he has as touchdowns so far this season. Beckham has been frustrated for pretty much the entire season and the team not having a good record and fighting for their playoff lives is not helping matters.
The LSU product recorded 390 catches for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns across 59 games after the Giants selected him with the 12th overall pick in 2014.
Beckham stands to make base salaries of $16.75 million and $14 million over the next two years.
