Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham is accusing the Los Angeles Rams of giving him a lowball offer.
Beckham is still recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered in Super Bowl 56 eight months ago, where his Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20. Beckham is expected to receive clearance for a return at some point this season, and there certainly won’t be a shortage of teams interested in his services.
Many view the Rams as the front-runners to win the Beckham sweepstakes. He enjoyed a career revival with them last season following an ugly exit from the Cleveland Browns, and it culminated with a championship ring.
Responding to a fan on Twitter, Beckham accused the Rams of lowballing him in their latest contract offers. He also stated that their offer was “the lowest of lows”.
The exact details of the contract offer are unclear. But head coach Sean McVay suggestedthat the latest offer to the former Pro Bowler was not the Rams’ last, per ESPN’s Sarah Barshop:

“I love Odell. We have constant dialogue. He also knows that certainly I don’t think that’s the last (offer) that would come from us. I’m not familiar with what it is. He knows how we feel about him. We’ve got a little bit of time.”
After three up-and-down seasons with Cleveland, Beckham was released from his contract mid-season. The Rams picked up the three-time Pro Bowler and 2014 Offensive Rookie of the Year to add more support around Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp.
The Rams had lost No. 2 receiver Robert Woods for the year with an ACL tear, and Beckham proved to be a valuable replacement for Los Angeles. In eight regular season games, he notched 27 receptions for 305 yards and five touchdowns.
Beckham was even more productive in the four postseason games. He posted 21 catches for 288 yards and two touchdowns, helping the Rams win their second Super Bowl in franchise history.
Entering Week 6, the Rams are struggling behind an offense that has averaged a woeful 16.0 points per game (29th in the league). Surely, the Rams will want to try harder in convincing Beckham to come back for a second year in La La Land.
