The NFL season is almost here. Training camps are underway, and the Hall of Fame Game has just been completed.
Like always, there are betting odds already being out. One of those happens to be the odds on which NFL coaches will be relieved of their duties this season. Bovada issued these odds, and the phrasing specific to the bet is “First coach to permanently leave position this season”
One of the names near the top is actually Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Mike McCarthy.
He’s not the overall “favorite” on this list, he’s #2 overall with odds of +450 to be the first coach fired. The top of the list is Carolina Panthers Head Coach Matt Rhule, with odds of +300.
Odds have changed just a little bit in the days since that post:

The Dallas Cowboys went 12-5 last year but lost in their Wild Card game against the 49ers. Many thought McCarthy would be gone, but owner Jerry Jones is essentially giving him one last shot to get it done or he’s going to be out.
