Who knew in 2019 that we would have a crazy rivalry that consisted of the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants?
Odell Beckham Jr. has not been shy about speaking out his disdain for his former team that suddenly traded him during the offseason. Once he was gone, people within the organization finally started to speak out about his off-the-field antics that had become cancerous, with one insider describing him as “a pain in the ass.”
During an interview with Sports Illustrated, Beckham spoke on the team making it extremely personal by sending him to Cleveland to “die,” because they had better offers on the table.
“This wasn’t no business move,” Beckham said. “This was personal. They thought they’d send me here to die.”
The Giants wanted two first-round draft picks, and the Browns offered No. 17, a third-round pick and safety Jabrill Peppers. Around that same time, the 49ers found themselves to be surprised when they weren’t given a chance to make a final offer.
The Cleveland Browns star wide receiver didn’t just blame the franchise for all the drama that went on during his tenure there.

“I can’t be like, ‘I’ve never done anything wrong,’” Beckham admits. But he does blame the New York media for highlighting things like his sideline outbursts or in-game fight with Josh Norman, over his elite production. “They built something that they now wanted to control,” Beckham explained. “And there is no need to try to control it.”
The Giants had signed Beckham to a five-year, $95 million extension in 2018 before they decided to get rid of him during the offseason. Beckham now is getting set to play alongside former LSU teammate Jarvis Landry with 2nd-year QB Baker Mayfield throwing his way.
