The Oakland Athletics are not going down without a fight.
Last week, the Athletics were dealt a huge blow when they found out that Kyler Murray would likely forego playing baseball for them and enter his name into the NFL Draft instead.
According to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale — Oakland A’s president Billy Beane and an assortment of other people plan to meet with the Heisman trophy winner in an effort to dissuade him from going to the NFL and play for them instead.
The A’s have a lot invested in Kyler Murray, seeing as how they drafted him with the ninth overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft.
Murray led his Sooners to the College Football Playoff this past season, throwing for 54 touchdowns in 14 games. The NFL Draft is set to take place April 25-27 in Nashville, Tenn.
