The Minnesota Vikings have made a significant release this week, having cut a wide receiver after signing him a few weeks ago.
N’Keal Harry, a 2019 first-round pick by the New England Patriots, has been shown the exit door just 18 days after joining the team. The Vikings announced as much this Thursday, noting that the move was made in order to facilitate the signing of safety Jake Gervase.
Per the team’s official website:
“Gervase joins the Vikings after playing 19 regular-season games over the past four seasons with the Rams. He also played in all four playoff games on the way to Los Angeles winning Super Bowl LVI.
“In order to make room for Gervase on the roster, the Vikings terminated the contract of receiver N’Keal Harry.”
Harry was the 32nd overall pick by the Pats but his career has been a struggle due to injuries and inconsistent playing time. He was traded by New England after 35 games. The wideout registered 59 catches during his time with the team.
The 25-year-old played in seven games for the Chicago Bears after being traded last July, making seven catches for a total of 116 yards and one touchdown. He entered free agency at the end of the season.
