Nick Sirianni won a big game to get his Eagles into the next round, but he also had a little bit of time to speak on people who have had things to say about his defensive coordinator.
The Philadelphia Eagles coach had a message for some detractors after Saturday’s convincing playoff win over the New York Giants.
Sirianna defended defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon, specifically calling out Angelo Cataldi, the morning show host on 94.1 WIP.
“Sometimes I have to hear some things about Jonathan Gannon. I don’t know if it’s you guys. It might be more other people. I won’t say names — Angelo,” Sirianni said in his postgame press conference. “But this guy is an unbelievable coordinator. The fact that he doesn’t get respect from our radio station blows my mind. People love to play for this guy.”
Jalen Hurts erased any doubts about the state of his right shoulder by throwing two touchdown passes and running for a score during a dominant first half, and the Philadelphia Eagles overwhelmed the New York Giants 38-7 on Saturday night in an NFC divisional playoff game.
They will now wait on the winner of the 49ers-Cowboys game.
