Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni is getting trolled by fans for reportedly using a clip from the movie 8 Mile to motivate his players.
The Eagles are playing the New York Giants this Saturday in a bid to reach the NFC Championship game, having enjoyed a bye week during the first round of the playoffs.
The pressure is on Sirianni and the Eagles as they are the overwhelming favorites. The Giants will be playing with house money and aren’t expected to beat 2022’s best team. But that hardly means the Eagles will be waltzing into the game.
According to NBC’s John Clarke, Sirianni showed his players Eminem’s freestyle from his final battle in 8 Mile in an attempt to hype them up ahead of Saturday’s fixture.

“The message was let them talk, We will show them who is the toughest for the longest,” Clarke added.
The team’s response was said to have been very positive too.
However, the coach has come under criticism for apparently misunderstanding the clip as Eminem would have been the Giants in this situation because he was the underdog the entire movie.
It seems like Brian Dabol should have been the one showing the clip to his players, but he’s known for preferring action over words.
“The night before a game, they’ve got to get ready to play,” he said on Friday. “It’s a little bit different [this week] because it’s a later game. So, I’ll probably even say less.”
