The momentum is building for the Green Bay Packers to trade legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets. NFL insider Trey Wingo dropped the news that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets “had conversations” and things have been progressing throughout the day.
“While nothing is imminent,” Wingo continued, “Rodgers is open to the idea of going to NY.”
As reports emerged Tuesday that Rodgers has had talks with the Jets, Nick Mangold, the former seven-time Pro Bowl Jets center, took to Twitter to try to get Rodgers’ attention.
“I’m going to try this again. First time didn’t work out… What’s the word @AaronRodgers12? No one tells me anything so I figure I’d go to the source,” Mangold wrote. “Hit me up if you need a realtor.”
This tweet came just days after Mangold used the same phrase with Carr, who ended up signing with the Saints on Monday.

Rodgers receiving permission to speak with the Jets means the process of him being traded is further along than previously suspected. Rodgers emerged from his darkness retreat and still provided nothing of substance about what he was going to do with his NFL future. It appears he has told the Packers’ front office what he wants and it appears he might be headed to the Jets.
Rodgers, who is due roughly $59 million this year, has not publicly decided if he wants to retire, play a 19th season with the Packers or play for another team. However, these latest developments seem to suggest he is on his way out of town.
The 39-year-old Mangold spent his entire 11-year career with the Jets and was inducted into their Ring of Honor during the 2022 season.
