On Thursday night football, New York Giants offensive lineman Nick Gates suffered a gruesome left leg injury in the first quarter of Thursday night’s 30-29 loss to the Washington Football Team.
The injury was so bad the NFL Network broadcast elected not to show a replay of it.
Jonathan Perzley, an agent with Sportstars Inc., indicated Gates was upbeat following the injury.
“Not a tougher dude on the planet than Gates,” Perzley said on Instagram, according to TMZ Sports. “He laughed on the phone and said ‘I snapped that s— in half.’ He will be back. It would take more than a broken bone to stop that man.”
Gates, who moved to guard after the team placed Shane Lemieux on injured reserve earlier in the day, appeared to have his leg rolled up on trying to block Washington defensive lineman Daron Payne.
