A surprise betting favorite has emerged to join the New York Jets (via trade or free agency) following Aaron Rodgers’ season-ending injury.
Unfortunately, Rodgers tore his Achilles just four offensive snaps into his Jets’ debut on Monday night against the Buffalo Bills. On Tuesday, the Jets received confirmation that the injury was an Achilles tear that will sideline him for the rest of the season.
BetOnline has released the betting odds on which QB the Jets will land next. Interestingly, free agent and Super Bowl 52 MVP Nick Foles is the favorite at 3/1, followed by fellow free agent signal-caller Colt McCoy at 4/1.
New Orleans Saints’ utility man Taysom Hill is next at 5/1. Ex-Philadelphia Eagles’ star Carson Wentz is listed at 7/1, and the retired Tom Brady carries 20/1 odds.
Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Jets’ head coach Robert Saleh stated that Zach Wilson will be the starting quarterback going forward. Wilson finished out Monday’s game against Buffalo and did just enough to help them to a 22-16 victory in overtime.

Wilson was drafted second overall by the Jets in 2021, but he went 8-14-0 over his first two seasons with just 15 touchdowns and 18 interceptions.
Despite his struggles, the Jets held onto Wilson after acquiring Rodgers via trade with the Green Bay Packers. And now, the former BYU standout suddenly has the chance to go from zero to hero in Gotham.
