The Cleveland Browns acted quickly to add to their running back room as they brought back a familiar face to replace Nick Chubb. Cleveland is signing Kareem Hunt after working him out this week.
The Browns also officially moved Chubb to injured reserve, officially ending the back’s season. He has even more trouble on the horizon as he gets set to deal with a long rehab.
Chubb was hit by Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick in the second quarter of Monday’s game and his left knee went inward. Chubb suffered a multi-ligament knee injury. He also sustained a prior major knee injury during his college career at Georgia.
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski described the injury as “significant.”
CBS NFL insider Josina Anderson dropped damning that there was “preliminary talk” of Chubb potentially needing two surgeries to fix his knee, with one coming soon and another “several weeks after.”
Anderson also said Chubb’s meniscus was injured.
