San Francisco 49ers star defensive end Nick Bosa had a hilarious message for ex-Ohio State teammate Joe Burrow following his team’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
Burrow and the 49ers made a giant statement on Sunday by cruising to a 31-17 win over the 49ers at Levi’s Stadium. The Bengals never trailed in the contest, as Burrow had a field day with 283 passing yards and three touchdowns without an interception.
The two ex-Buckeyes met midfield after Cincy’s Week 8 win. As you can see in the clip below (courtesy of NFL Films), Bosa joked to Burrow that he, “Made our bye week trash,” before adding “If anybody could do it, I’d want you to.”
Bosa recorded half a sack and two hits on Burrow, but the Bengals’ offensive line mostly contained San Francisco’s vaunted pass rush. Though Burrow was sacked three times, he had plenty of time in the pocket all day long to carve up the 49ers’ struggling secondary.
Cincinnati’s inconsistent rushing game also ran all over the 49ers, racking up 134 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries. Joe Mixon led the way in the ground game with 87 yards.
After starting out a perfect 5-0, Bosa’s 49ers have now lost three straight and have fallen behind the Seattle Seahawks for first in the NFC West. San Fran will now go on its much-needed Week 9 bye before visiting the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10.
