Nick Bosa’s contract with the San Francisco 49ers has just one year left remaining, so it’s not out of the realm to start talking about his future and where he might end up if he doesn’t comeback to the team.
Bosa will likely become one of the highest-paid defensive players in NFL history, but the playing surface of that team will factor into his decision. During an interview with The Athletic, Bosa revealed that his free agency decision will be heavily influenced by whether a team plays on grass or turf.
He likes grass.
“Oh, a hundred percent,” Bosa told The Athletic. “Yeah, a hundred percent, for sure. It’s usually the older guys who know more about it. Or guys who have dealt with injuries from it. Because when you’re young and in high school and college, you think it’s fast and fun and it looks good. And then you realize after a few years, it’s like, whew, I’ll do anything to get on some grass.”
Bosa’s first major injury was a torn ACL during the 2020 season and it occurred at MetLife Stadium, which has claimed many victims over the years.
As for right now in the present day, Nick Bosa has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month for November.

Bosa totaled 10 tackles, five tackles for loss, and three sacks in November. His stellar play was part of a 49ers defense that held their opponent to 16 or fewer points in each of their three games during the month.
This is the second Defensive Player of the Month award for Bosa. He becomes the first-ever player from Ohio State to win two Player of the Month awards.
Bosa leads the league with 14.5 sacks on the season and will tie his single-season best with his next sack.
