The man that is Pat Tillman is celebrated every Memorial day after his ultimate sacrifice of giving his life for the country after he turned down signing a multi-million dollar contract to go serve in the United States Army following the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
Tillman was tragically killed by friendly fire in Afghanistan in 2004 at 27 years old.
Remebering him took a turn for the worst after Republican senator candidate JT Lewis used his death to take a horrible shot at Colin Kaepernick.
NFL writer Mike Freeman saw that post and took that time to destroy him with facts.
At this point, if people are still shelling out false narratives about why Colin Kaepernick, it’s because they refuse to pay attention to why he stated he was kneeling.

Kaepernick stated that he was doing so to call attention to the issues of racial inequality and police brutality. He first started sitting down on the bench, but spoke to retired Army Green Beret Nate Boyer who told him it would be better to kneel instead.
He did, and the country lost its mind during the 2016 season. Kaepernick has been blackballed out of the league since then.
