Football fans are sympathizing with NFL tight end George Kittle and his wife Claire following a revelation regarding a recent miscarriage.
Claire disclosed as much this Tuesday, with the miscarriage having taken place in January. She said the ordeal was akin to her soul leaving her body – at least that’s how she felt at the time.
The revelation came as part of an emotional Valentine’s Day Instagram post in which Clai noted that she and George found out they were pregnant on Christmas Day, three weeks before his team, the San Francisco 49ers, started their playoff run.
Claire said that they were excited to find out she was with child and their family members were all happy too. However, four days before Kittle and the Niners played the Seattle Seahawks in the wild-card round, she went for a routine checkup and found out the worst.
“The nurse giving my ultra sound went silent for awhile and I asked ‘I’m still early there’s probably nothing to see yet right?'” she explained. “She responded with ‘I see a pregnancy here it’s just not in the correct place, it’s ectopic.
“I felt my soul leave my body.”

Claire had surgery a few hours later but lost the baby.
She added:
The point of sharing this is not for pity but to acknowledge something extremely personal, hard & emotional that has taken place in our life,” she wrote in her social media post, which included multiple loving pictures of her and George.
To simply talk about it because I felt alone when I got the news, I never knew anyone else who had an ectopic pregnancy before. So here’s my direct line to you, i’ve had one, you’re not alone. It sucks, It’s hard, be strong.
“Sending you both all the love,” the 49ers wrote in the comments.
“Love you both,” DeForest Buckner, a defensive tackle for the Indianapolis Colts, said.
Free agent running back Tevin Coleman’s wife Akila commented: “Claire this was so incredibly brave of you to share. The video of Christmas with the family & the little jersey made me tear up. I’m so sorry you experienced this. Thank you for being vulnerable & thank you for bringing awareness, so many women will read your post and realize they aren’t alone.
“Me & Tevin will lift you guys in prayer. we love y’all!”
Claire said she received lots of support from George and family members following the terrible discovery.
We at TotalProSports.com would like to wish the Kittle family all the best during what must still be a very troubling period.
