An NFL wide receiver has had to weirdly deny that he’s in trouble over the death of a bald eagle.
The Indianapolis Colts suspended Isaiah McKenzie for the final three games of the 2023 season but declined to say why, only disclosing that the ban was the result of “conduct detrimental to the team.”
Rumors have since surfaced claiming he’s being punished for hunting a bald eagle.
McKenzie took to X on Monday to make it clear that he did no such thing.
We aren’t sure where the rumor came from, but it has gone viral on social media.
If that were the case, a three-game suspension would be the least of the WR’s worries. Killing that particular species is punishable by a one-year prison term and/or a $100,000 fine.

McKenzie played in every game through to Week 13 for the Colts this season, making 11 catches for 82 yards. He also returned 23 punts for 204 yards.
Indy made him a healthy scratch for Week 14 before suspending him for the rest of the campaign.
