Following the controversial ending in the Detroit Lions-Dallas Cowboys game on Saturday, the NFL has sent out a video reminding teams of how to properly report an eligible receiver.
Per Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team, the NFL sent out the following video below to clarify the rule for coaches and players. They even featured the Cowboys-Lions game in the video as an example to help clear up the rule:
The Lions-Cowboys game ended in controversy when Detroit offensive tackle Taylor Decker was flagged for illegal touching after catching a late go-ahead two-point conversion try. The refs claimed that fellow offensive lineman Dan Skipper (No. 70) reported as eligible, but that Decker didn’t.
Decker’s likely game-winning catch was taken off the board, and the Lions’ final attempt to win the game on a two-point try fell incomplete. The Cowboys escaped with a close 20-19 win after recovering the onside kick.
The controversy further skyrocketed when footage showed Decker talking to the officials before the two-point try. Decker and teammate Jared Goff both claimed that he had indeed reported eligible:

Head official Brad Allen and his crew were already under the microscope following several blown calls in the Kansas City Chiefs-Green Bay Packers Week 13 game. Despite their questionable performance on Saturday, the NFL has assigned them the Baltimore Ravens-Pittsburgh Steelers Saturday evening game on ESPN.
