The NFL doesn’t seem to have a problem with Deshaun Watson playing in their league, but they do have a problem with posting any of his highlights on their Twitter account.
During today’s game between the Browns and Commanders, some noticed that the NFL’s Twitter account was doing whatever they could to avoid posting Watson’s name in any Tweets. And not only that, but they were also editing Watson out of every Browns highlight video that they posted—even the ones where Watson was throwing touchdown passes to his receivers.
Watson had three touchdowns on the game, as the Browns beat the Commanders by a score of 24-10. So the people running the NFL’s Twitter account had their work cut out for them.
As Dov Kleiman points out, the NFL always posts the quarterback’s name when they’re posting highlights of touchdown passes. So for Watson’s name to not be mentioned in any of his three touchdown highlights clearly proves the NFL’s intentions here.
