It’s no secret that Derek Carr has played his final game for the Las Vegas Raiders.
The organization benched the longtime starting quarterback for their final two regular season games. Carr also posted a goodbye message to Raiders fans on social media earlier this week, all but assuring that the franchise will have a new quarterback next season.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has been widely linked to the Raiders, especially since he has a long (and successful) working history with their head coach in Josh McDaniels. But FOX Sports’ Nick Wright proposed another intriguing scenario in which the Raiders make a trade for a former MVP winner.
Wright proposed an enticing trade in which the Raiders would acquire Lamar Jackson from the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for the No. 7 and No. 38 picks of this year’s draft plus the Raiders’ 2024 first and second-round picks.
Jackson’s contract with the Ravens expires after this season. Back in September, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the 2019 league MVP rejected an extension worth around $250 million.
