Los Angeles Rams star cornerback Jalen Ramsey is one of the top names to watch on the NFL trade market in the coming weeks.
Over the weekend, it was reported that the Rams are looking to trade their All-Pro cornerback in a cap-clearing move. GM Les Snead has already made one big roster transaction, releasing Pro Bowl linebacker Bobby Wagner after one season.
There will surely be a big trade market for a man who is widely regarded as the league’s best cornerback. In his latest “Football Morning In America” column, NBC Sports’ Peter King suggested an intriguing trade scenario that would see Ramsey join the Buffalo Bills:
“My projection is the Rams could get something between a low first-round pick this year (Dallas, Buffalo and Kansas City could be interested, and pick between 26 and 31 overall) and a package of picks—perhaps a low two this year, and a fourth-rounder this year or next, that could rise depending on performance or play-time markers Ramsey could meet.
The Bills, Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys are in win-now mode and could certainly use a game-changer like Ramsey in their secondary. All three clubs, however, have very difficult salary cap situations looming with several key players about to enter free agency.
But superstar and versatile defensive backs of Ramsey’s don’t come around very often, so it’s definitely reasonable to think that Los Angeles could get a first-round pick and more in a return for Ramsey.

Buffalo entered 2022 as the Super Bowl favorites, but they fell to the Cincinnati Bengals in the Divisional Round. Adding Ramsey to a secondary that features Pro Bowlers Micah Hyde and Tre’Davious White just might help the Bills get over the playoff hump.
Needless to say, the Ramsey trade will alter the NFL landscape in more ways than one.
