With Tom Brady retired, at least for the time being, Aaron Rodgers is the biggest name on the market as it pertains to star quarterbacks.
There will be a few moves made at QB in the offseason, with Derek Carr and Jimmy Garoppolo likely to be wearing new colors next term. Rodgers is now expected to be playing elsewhere in 2023 following news of the Green Bay Packers being open to trading him this year.
Several teams have been tipped as likely destinations for the four-time MVP but, as it turns out, the team Carr is leaving has emerged as the favorite to land Rodgers; at least that’s how the bookmakers see it.
Odds for the Las Vegas Raiders to land the 10-time Pro Bowl star went up to -450 on DraftKings on Tuesday and it does make sense as the QB seems like the perfect fit for the Raiders at the moment. He’s already used to playing with their best receiver, Davante Adams, plus there aren’t many options available.
As mentioned above, Brady’s no longer on the market while Brock Purdy’s injury means the San Francisco 49ers will be keeping Trey Lance. Garoppolo would not be considered an upgrade on Carr either.
Carr is also not going to be an option the way he will be to other teams looking for a new QB, so Las Vegas would likely be willing to go all out to ensure they land Rodgers.
