David Mulugheta is a lawyer and designated agent of over 40 players in the National Football League.
Mulugheta, who became an NFLPA-certified contract advisor in 2012 and an agent at Athletes First the same year, noticed how a ton of teams will always look out for their best interest first and foremost when making decisions and he made it clear that it is not going unnoticed.
He took to X this week and stated how none of his clients will be taking any losses and they all understand and will move with the same energy as teams who put themselves first.
“I’ll take all the sticks and stones because at the end of the day my guys won’t be taking any L’s,” Mulugheta tweeted. “Today has shown teams will do what’s best for them at all times… my guys understand that and move with that same energy.”
The veteran agent doubled down after someone mentioned legacy and the ability to win at a high level.

“I’ve never seen legacy pay a bill,” he tweeted. “Legacy and $$$ is of course ideal. But no one hires me to secure legacy. They hire me to secure financial security and freedom for them and their families…and I always deliver.”
It should be noted that Tee Higgins is his client and he officially requested a trade on Monday morning. The Bengals placed the franchise tag on him last month, which will give him a one-year, $21.8 million contract.
Adam Schefter reported Higgins is unhappy that the team has not had any talks with him about a long-term contract extension since March 2023 and is now ready to move on.
In 2023, Higgins appeared in 12 games for the Bengals and recorded 42 receptions on 76 targets for 656 yards receiving and five touchdowns.
Aside from Higgins, David Mulugheta also represents Jalen Ramsey, Deshaun Watson, Budda Baker, Michael Thomas, AJ Terrell, and Kyle Pitts.
