One anonymous NFL scout believes the potential of LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels is absolutely through the roof.
More specifically, the scout believes that the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner has a chance to “be better” than Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes — a three-time Super Bowl champion and two-time league MVP.
Speaking to NFL writer Bob McGinn (h/t Tyler Dunne of GoLongTD.com), the anonymous scout offered this insanely high praise for the 23-year-old Daniels:
“I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anybody like him. He could be a running back. He was the closest thing I’ve seen to Mahomes but he actually might be better because he’s faster and a better runner and a much better pure athlete.”

USC’s Caleb Williams is a virtual lock to go first overall to the Chicago Bears. North Carolina’s Drake Maye was the consensus choice to go second overall to the Washington Commanders, but many scouts and analysts now have Daniels ranked as the better prospect.
