An NFL scout thinks that one of the top NFC clubs should make a trade for Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
Last week, it was reported that the Rams are expected to trade the All-Pro corner at some point in the coming weeks. Ramsey has three years remaining on the five-year, $100 million extension he signed in 2020.
Cornerbacks of Ramsey’s caliber don’t come around often, so the Rams should get a nice return for the future Hall of Famer that played a pivotal role in their Super Bowl 56 championship-winning season.
Speaking to Kenneth Teape of NFL Analysis Network, an NFL scout suggested that the Cowboys trade for one of the game’s premier defensive players:
“The Cowboys are one piece away from being an elite defense,” the scout said. “Jalen Ramsey is that guy that they need. If they are able to pull off a deal with L.A., Dallas will see their Super Bowl odds double.”
Despite inconsistencies on offense, the Cowboys won 12 games for the second straight year and advanced to the Divisional Round, where they fell to the San Francisco 49ers. Their success was mostly thanks to a top-tier defense that finished fifth in scoring and 12th in yards.

Micah Parsons is making his case as the NFL’s best defensive player, and Trevon Diggs has been an elite ball-hawker with 14 interceptions and 35 pass defenses over his last two seasons. But Diggs has been inconsistent in one-on-one coverage, but adding a world-class cover man like Ramsey could help Diggs in that department.
The Cowboys are in win-now mode with a core of Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Zack Martin, Tyron Smith, Ezekiel Elliott, Tony Pollard (assuming he’s retained with free agency looming), Parsons and Diggs. Adding Ramsey would surely enhance their chances of getting to the final four for the first time since 1995.
