At one point during his career, Russell Okung weighed as much as 310 pounds. Those days are long gone.
On Sunday, former NFL offensive tackle Russell Okung posted a picture to his Twitter account that seemingly shows his weight loss that likely exceeded at least 100 pounds. The former first-round pick went from being an offensive lineman to the size of a wide receiver.
“Reborn,” Okung announced on social media, showing off a photo of his new physique.
Drafted in with the sixth overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma State, Okung began his career with the Seattle Seahawks and spent the 2010-2015 seasons with the team.
He would then play one year for the Denver Broncos in 2016, three years for the Los Angeles Chargers from 2017-2019, and one year with the Carolina Panthers in 2020, where his playing career ended.
His last year was most notable because he decided that he wanted half of his $13 million contract for 2020 in Bitcoin -a cryptocurrency. One person went as far as to state that Okung is now the “highest-paid player in the NFL” at the time.

Bitcoin has since fallen off a cliff since then, but we do not know if he still has any money in it as of right now.
For his career, he played in 131 total tackles, made two Pro Bowls, and won a Super Bowl in 2012.
Congratulations to Russell Okung for his insane body transformation and him enjoying his retirement.
