NFL Reveals First-Ever Amazon Thursday Night Matchup

Just last week, the NFL announced when the official schedule for the 2022 season would be announced. During draft night, we got even more news.

During the first round of the NFL Draft, a week two contest was announced.

Kansas City Chiefs legend Tony Gonzalez and Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler walked out onto the stage and announced that the Chargers and Chiefs would face off in the first-ever Thursday Night Football game that will be broadcast on Amazon.

NFL announces the first ever TNF game on Amazon in Week 2 will be Chargers vs. Chiefs.

Roger Goodell also announced Gonzalez as a member of Amazon’s TNF coverage. He had a run of several years at CBS on The NFL Today before leaving for Fox in 2017.

After joining Fox’s TNF coverage in 2019 and leaving in the summer of 2021, he is now headed back to TV.
