When it comes to football in January, it’s often the most northern cities that are hit with treacherous weather. But in a strange turn of events, it seems as though places like Buffalo and Cincinnati will feature very friendly conditions, while things could get ugly in San Francisco.
Levi’s Stadium is expected to get drilled with high winds and a large amount of rain all day. NFL Network’s Steve Wyche was in attendance early this morning and he provided a glimpse of what things could look like come game time.
And to say that the 49ers and Seattle Seahawks could be headed for some brutal weather would be an understatement.
This could make it incredibly difficult for Brock Purdy and Geno Smith to throw the ball this afternoon. It could also pose problems in terms of ball security.
That could turn this into a battle of defenses and running games, which you’d think would favor the Niners…
But it could also add an element of unpredictability, which would certainly help the underdog Seahawks, who are currently +9.5 at most sportsbooks.
