We were all expecting a blockbuster trade today…Just not the one we actually got.
Most thought Deshaun Watson would have a new home, but while we’re still waiting on that front, another major deal came in out of nowhere. This one didn’t involve a quarterback. Rather, it was a star wide receiver getting moved, as the Green Bay Packers sent Davante Adams to the Raiders for their first- and second-round picks in this year’s draft.
These are the types of blockbuster moves that get everyone talking, including fellow NFL players. Many of them took to Twitter to chime in on the Adams trade and his subsequent five-year, $141.25-million deal.
Ja’Marr Chase was giddy about the whole situation — probably because he knows his next contract will be even more massive than the $28.25-million that Adams will be making per season.
Former Packers teammate Marcedes Lewis was clearly angry by the move.
