The Kenosha Police Department are under heavy scrutiny after footage surfaced showing an officer firing seven bullets into the back of an unarmed Black male as he made his way back to his vehicle where his kids were seated.
Kenosha PD said in a news release Sunday that a person was hospitalized in serious condition after the shooting as officers were responding to a “domestic incident.” The state’s governor identified the man shot and said he hopes he recovers.

Jacob Blake was allegedly trying to break up a fight between two women when an officer held his shirt and shot him in the back.
The officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave, the Wisconsin Department of Justice said early on Monday.
Wisconsin state governor Tony Evers wrote in a tweet: “We stand against excessive use of force and immediate escalation when engaging with black Wisconsinites.”
