It’s an incredibly sad day in the NFL world. Earlier today, it was reported that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins had passed away after being struck by a car in South Florida.
Haskins was reportedly in Florida training with his fellow Steelers wide receivers and quarterbacks. He was set to turn 25-years-old on May 3.
Haskins hasn’t been in the league for very long, having been drafted in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft by Washington (with the 15th overall pick). He spent two seasons there before joining the Steelers in 2021, where he was a backup to Ben Roethlisberger and Mason Ruddolph.
Despite his short time in the league, Haskins has clearly had an influence on the life of many, as dozens of fellow NFL players took to Twitter to share their shock, sadness and condolences following the passing of their friend.
