Josh McDaniels has some changes to do. In the NFL Players Association team report cards released Wednesday, the Raiders’ head coach took some hits.
According to the NFLPA’s report card, McDaniels is “less likely” to listen to his players than other coaches. The report further added that he keeps them for longer hours than others around the league.
“At this workplace, the lowest graded category was the coaching staff,” the NFLPA’s report card stated. “Player respondents felt that head coach Josh McDaniels is less likely to listen to his players and keeps them for longer hours than other head coaches around the league. Longer hours are not correlated to winning, as seven of the top eight coaches rated as being most efficient with their players’ time in the 2022 survey made the playoffs this year.”
With the record the Raiders had in the first season, it appears his way did not work.
Per the report card, seven of eight coaches rated as most efficient with players’ time made the playoffs.
Aside from the coaching staff, the Raiders ranked highly in eight other categories and finished third overall in the league.

McDaniels is set to enter his second year after the Raiders finished the 2022 season with a 6-11 record.
If they can get an upgrade from Derek Carr this off-season, the team might be able to make some noise.
