Snow filled up Highmark Stadium for Sunday’s AFC Divisional Round Showdown between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals.
The Bills coaches, players and fans are used to snow-filled games at Highmark Stadium. The club’s Week 15 home game against the Miami Dolphins just one month ago (a 32-29 Buffalo win) was filled with snow as well.
During the game, the @NFLOfficiating Twitter account noted several interesting rules for games that carry snowy conditions. Among them: Grounds crew is not permitted to clear off snow for areas kick attempts.
Individual players are also welcome to help grounds crew members clear off the snow, but they can ONLY use their hands or feet to do so.
The winner of the Bills-Bengals game will meet Patrick Mahomes and the top-seeded Kansas City Chiefs in next Sunday’s AFC Championship Game. If Buffalo wins, the contest will be played at the neutral side of Mercedes-Benz Stadium (home of the Atlanta Falcons) in Atlanta, Georgia.
Cincinnati and Kansas City met in last year’s AFC title game, with the Bengals pulling off a thrilling 27-24 victory in overtime.
