Another woman has filed a civil lawsuit against Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson, accusing him of pressuring her into performing a sexual act while she was giving him a massage.
The lawsuit is not connected to the other 24 lawsuits that were filed against Watson previously, 23 of which were settled.
The NFL has since issued a statement on the allegations against Watson. Per Mark Maske of the Washington Post, his status “remains unchanged” but the league will monitor developments for any conduct which may warrant further investigation.
“Watson’s status remains unchanged. We will monitor developments in the newly-filed litigation, and any conduct that warrants further investigation or possible additional sanctions would be addressed within the Personal Conduct Policy.”
The original lawsuits were filed by attorney Tony Buzbee. This latest one has been filed by two different lawyers.
According to Claire Geary of News 5 Cleveland, “The woman claims Watson reached out to set up an appointment via Instagram and as a ‘small business owner’ was actively trying to grow her business and expand her client base, the lawsuit says.”

The report adds that Watson allegedly tried to have sex with the woman, and when he was rebuffed was able to “pressure her into oral sex” before paying her $300. Her rates for massages were $115 per hour.
Over the offseason, Watson was traded to the Browns and signed a fully guaranteed five-year, $230 million contract extension.
The NFL suspended him for the first 11 games of the 2022 season.
He is not eligible to practice with the Browns until Nov. 14th.
